Modifying Properties of a Quota

Modifying Properties of a Quota

This operation allows you to change the quota way and threshold.

  • You have logged in to the DeviceManager as an administrator that has the permission to modify the quota properties. The following administrators have the permission:
    • Super administrator
    • Resource administrator
    • Administrator
  • At least one quota has been created.

  • If you change the mandatory quota into the calculate quota, related users or user groups can use the storage space or file number without a limit.
  • When quota is insufficient, you can send request to administrator. The administrator will increase the quota by modifying the quota threshold.
  • If the thresholds of an associated quota are changed, the quota turns to an independent quota item automatically. Then the quota is not associated with the default quota any more and the use of storage space and files is not restricted by the default quota.

  1. Log in to DeviceManager.
  2. Choose Provisioning > InfoAllocator > Quota Management.
  3. Select the quota whose properties you want to modify and click Properties.

The Quota Properties dialog box is displayed.

    • By entering the name of a user or user group and click Search, you can view quotas of the searched user or user group.
    • When a local user or local user group for which a quota has been created is deleted, the user type of the quota displays the user UID or user group GID but not the user or user group name. The UID or GID is automatically created during the creation of the user or user group.
    • When a domain user or domain user group is deleted for which a quota has been created or is unable to be queried because the network is not smooth between the system and domain control server, the domain user or user group name will display because of the system cache. When the system cache is cleared, for example, the device is restarted, the domain user UID or domain user group GID will display.

  4. Change the quota type or threshold and click OK.

The Success dialog box is displayed, indicating that the quotas are changed is displayed.

You can change the following values:
    • Quota way: calculate quota or mandatory quota
    • Quota threshold: hard threshold, soft threshold, soft threshold grace period, and recommended threshold.

  5. Click OK.
