Configuring Domain Names

Configuring Domain Names

This section describes the basic function and the configuration method.

  1. Log in to DeviceManager.
  2. Choose Settings > Cluster Settings > InfoEqualizer > Basic Information.
  3. Check whether Enable is selected.

    • If yes, go to 5.
    • If no, go to 4.

  4. Select Enable.

After this function is enabled, an alarm may be generated indicating that idle dynamic IP addresses are insufficient. If you need to configure dynamic IP addresses, alarms will be automatically cleared after dynamic IP addresses are configured. If you do not need to configure dynamic IP addresses (for example, only the CIFS protocol is used), you can ignore the alarm or log in to DeviceManager, choose Alarms > Current Alarms, select the alarm, and click Clear.

  5. Configure the dynamic and static domain names of InfoEqualizer.
    1. In Dynamic Domain Name and Static Domain Name, enter the planned domain names.

It is recommended that domain names consist of all letters, or letters and digits. A domain name containing only digits (for example 123.123) cannot be used by Windows clients to access shared resources.

    2. In Description, enter the cluster information.
    3. Click Save.
    4. In the Success dialog box that is displayed, click OK.
