Table 1-1 describes each feature of the OceanStor 9000.

A client connection load balancing feature used to intelligently distribute the Network File System (NFS)/Common Internet File System (CIFS)/File Transfer Protocol (FTP) client connections among storage nodes, improving performance and reliability of the OceanStor 9000.


A dynamic storage tiering feature used to intelligently store and migrate data across different storage tiers based on data access frequency.


A quota management feature used to limit and manage space allocation by directory.


A snapshot feature used to provide directory-level snapshot functions.


An asynchronous remote replication feature that allows multiple OceanStor 9000 storage systems to asynchronously replicate data between each other across sites.


An enterprise-class write once read many (WORM) feature that prevents data stored by the OceanStor 9000 from being lost or tampered with, promising long-term storage of enterprises' mission-critical data.


An antivirus feature provided by the antivirus software that interconnects with the OceanStor 9000 storage system to scan files in shared directories in real time or periodically, enhancing security of the overall system.


A fault tolerance feature that allows video data to be correctly read and written when the number of faulty nodes or disks exceeds the upper limit, ensuring continuity of video surveillance services.


A global view client software program used to consolidate multiple OceanStor 9000 storage systems across sites and present a unified view externally.


A unified management feature that is deployed in a network management system to centrally manage multiple OceanStor 9000 storage devices on a unified management interface.

NFS protocol enhancement

A performance acceleration feature used to improve the performance of a single Mac OS X and RHEL client accessing the OceanStor 9000 storage system.

NDMP backup

A network data management protocol (NDMP)-based backup feature used to support data backup and recovery.


A Hadoop distributed file system (HDFS) feature. By collaborating with FusionInsight Hadoop and Cloudera Hadoop (Hadoop offerings released by Huawei and Cloudera respectively), the HDFS feature of the OceanStor 9000 supports distributed file storage with increased capacity utilization, reliability, and performance while supporting value-added services such as snapshot, remote replication, and quota management.
