Configuration Operations

Based on the requirement analysis and service planning, this section describes how to configure InfoTier for the TV station to store and manage data properly.


Performance_Pool consisting of P25 nodes and Capacity_Pool consisting of C72 nodes have been deployed.


The InfoTier configuration process includes creating storage tiers, configuring node pools, and configuring file pool policies. Figure 3-6 shows the InfoTier configuration flowchart.

  1. Log in to DeviceManager.
  2. Create Performance_Tier.
    1. Choose Provisioning > InfoTier > Tier Management.
    2. Click Create in the upper part of the page as shown in Figure 3-7, enter a name for the storage tier in Name, and click OK.

  3. Repeat 2 to create Capacity_Tier.
  4. Configure watermark thresholds, owning storage tiers, and the Spillover function for Performance_Pool as planned.
    1. Choose Provisioning > InfoTier > Tier Management.
    2. Select the owning storage tier of the node pool that is going to configure (the default owning storage tier is defaultTier), click Performance_Pool in the lower part of the page, and then click Properties as shown in Figure 3-8.

    3. In the Node Pool Properties window that is displayed, set properties for Performance_Pool, and click OK to complete the setting, as shown in Figure 3-9.

  5. Repeat 4, configure the Capacity_Pool as planned.
  6. Configure the file pool policy Performance_Policy.
    1. Choose Provisioning > InfoTier > File Pool Policy.
    1. Click Create, and the Create File Pool Policy Wizard page displays. Configure the parameters as shown in Figure 3-10.

  7. Repeat 6 to create Capacity_Policy as planned.
