This section describes the background, definition, purposes and benefits of the InfoEqualizer feature.


The OceanStor 9000 employs a fully symmetrical and distributed architecture where all nodes can process client access requests. The OceanStor 9000 provides the InfoEqualizer feature that can evenly distribute access requests from NFS/CIFS/FTP clients to ensure service reliability.


InfoEqualizer can intelligently distribute client access requests among storage nodes, improving service performance and reliability.

Figure 2-1 illustrates the functions of InfoEqualizer.

Improved service performance

The OceanStor 9000 can intelligently allocate the received client access requests to less loaded nodes, greatly improving client access performance.

Improved service reliability

The OceanStor 9000 can automatically detect a faulty node and switch services from the faulty node to other nodes, improving client access reliability.

Reduced maintenance costs

The OceanStor 9000 allows clients to access nodes using domain names, without the need to obtain node IP addresses each time. This function greatly simplifies maintenance and reduces the management costs.
