Managing the SNMP Service

This operation enables you to configure the SNMP service.


  1. Log in to DeviceManager.
  2. Choose Settings > Alarm Settings > SNMP Service.
  3. Select Enable after SNMP Service to enable the SNMP service function.
  4. Set environment name,Table 19-2describes related parameters.

    Environment Name

    The environment name of SNMPv3.


    By default, the version of the enabled SNMP service is v3. This parameter needs to be set only when the version is v3.

    [Value range]

    The string of environment name contains 1 to 255 characters.



  5. Select Enable after SNMPv1 and v2c to enable SNMPv1 and v2c.

    Enabling SNMPv1 and v2c may cause security risks, you are advised to use SNMPv3.

  6. Optional: Configure Read Community and Write Community for SNMPv1 and v2c.

    The value of the read community can not be the same as that of the write community. Read community and write community contain 8 to 39 characters , and must contain at least three types among upper-case letters, lower-case letters, digits, and special characters.

  7. Click Save.

    The Caution dialog box is displayed.

  8. Click OK.

    The Execution Result dialog box is displayed indicating that the operation succeeded.

  9. Click Close.
