Account Management Services

The object storage service supports account management, including basic account management, credentials management, subscribed service management, and storage policy management.

Overview

Account is the credential to use the object storage service. On the OceanStor 9000, accounts can be managed using the following methods.

  • Administrators can manage accounts by using DeviceManager, which provides graphical user interface (GUI) management. For details, see the section Account Management in Object Storage Service.
  • Users of the OceanStor 9000 can also develop account management interfaces by using account management RESTful APIs provided by the object storage service. For details, see OceanStor 9000 Account Management API Specification.

Account Management

Performing the following operations to manage accounts:

  • Create an account: Administrators can create an account and specify its ID, name, and email address.
  • Delete an account: Administrators can delete an account that has been created.
  • Modify account information: Administrators can modify the name and email address of an account.
  • Query a specific account: Administrators can query an account by specifying its ID.
  • Query account lists: Administrators can query all account lists.
  • Query account statistics: Administrators can query statistics of a specific account, such as bucket quantity, object quantity, quota, and occupied space.
  • Query account information: Administrators can query the number of activated accounts, activated credentials, inactivated accounts, and inactivated credentials.

Credentials Management

Each account must have its credential as an identity for accessing services. Performing the following operations to manage credentials:

  • Create a credential: Administrators can create a credential for an account.
  • Modify credential information: Administrators can change the credential status to active or inactive.
  • List credential: Administrators can list credentials of accounts.
  • Import a credential: Administrators can import a credential for an account.
  • Delete a credential: Administrators can delete the credential of a specific account.

Subscribed Service Management

Each account must be subscribed for using the services. Performing the following operations to manage subscribed service:

  • Subscribe services: Administrators can send a request to subscribe services for a specific account.
  • Query subscription information: Administrators can query subscription information about a specific account.
  • Modify subscription information: Administrators can modify subscription service type and status for a specific account.
  • Unsubscribe services: Administrators can send a request to unsubscribe services for a specific account.

Storage Policy Management

Performing the following operations to configure storage policies for accounts.

  • Quota: Administrators can allocate space for the accounts.
  • Redundancy ratio: Administrators can configure storage protection levels for the accounts.
  • Deduplication enabled or not: When deduplication is enabled, the system automatically deletes duplicate objects.
