Deleting a Data Reconstruction Policy

If a data reconstruction policy is no longer needed, you can delete it. If the number of existing data reconstruction policies has reached the upper limit of five but you need to create a data reconstruction policy, you need to delete a data reconstruction policy before creation.


At least one data reconstruction policy has been created.

You have logged in to the DeviceManager as an administrator that has the permission to operate the file system structure. The following administrators have the permission:

  • Super administrator
  • Device administrator
  • Administrator

Impact on the System

If a data reconstruction task is being executed based on a data reconstruction policy, the policy priority for the data reconstruction task will be restored to the default value, that is, High, after the data reconstruction policy is deleted.


  1. Log in to DeviceManager.
  2. Choose Settings > Cluster Settings > Protection Policy > Automatic Data reconstruction.
  3. In the middle function pane, select the data reconstruction policy that you want to delete and click Delete.

    The security alert dialog box is displayed.

  4. Confirm the information in the dialog box and select I have read and understand the consequences associated with performing this operation.. Then click OK.

    The Success dialog box is displayed.

  5. Click OK to finish deleting a data reconstruction policy.
