Starting a Data Reconstruction Task

If a node becomes faulty and the fault cannot be fixed while referring to related alarm information and troubleshooting guide, you can manually start a data reconstruction task with DeviceManager.

Prerequisites

You have logged in to the DeviceManager as an administrator that has the permission to operate the file system structure. The following administrators have the permission:

  • Super administrator
  • Device administrator
  • Administrator

Impact on the System

If you start a data reconstruction task during peak hours, the task consumes a lot of system resources, decreasing the system performance.

Procedure

  1. Log in to DeviceManager.
  2. Choose Settings > Cluster Settings > Protection Policy > Manual Data reconstruction.
  3. In the middle function pane, view the parameters of the node whose data needs to be recovered.

    For details about the parameters of the node whose data needs to be recovered, see Table 12-3.

    Parameter

    Description

    Name

    Name of the node whose data needs to be recovered.

    Health Status

    Health status of the node whose data needs to be recovered.

    Running Status

    Running status of the node whose data needs to be recovered.

  4. In the middle function pane, select the node whose data needs to be recovered and click Start.

    The security alert dialog box is displayed.

  5. Confirm the information in the dialog box and select I have read and understand the consequences associated with performing this operation.. Then click OK.

    The Success dialog box is displayed.

  6. Click OK to finish starting a data reconstruction task.
  7. In the middle function pane, click View above the data reconstruction task list. View Progress and Result of the data reconstruction task.
