System Networking

An OceanStor 9000 contains three independent network planes, which are a front-end service network, a back-end storage network, and a management network.

Figure 1-2 shows a typical system network diagram.

Table 1-2 describes the usage of the three networks.

Front-end service network

Applications access OceanStor 9000 through front-end service network and store data on storage nodes.
The front-end service network supports IPv4 and IPv6, but does not allow coexistence of IPv4 and IPv6.

Back-end storage network

Communication network among storage nodes.
The back-end storage network supports only IPv4.

Management network

Management network is designed for managing and maintaining system by administrators.
The management network supports IPv4 and IPv6, and allows coexistence of IPv4 and IPv6.
