Enabling and Disabling Toolkit

You can enable/disable Toolkit. After enabling Toolkit, you can use it for cluster expansion, cluster upgrade, switch management, node deletion and service switchover.

Context

Toolkit is a software product used for the deployment, expansion, and upgrade of storage systems. DeviceManager provides an entry to deliver the commands for enabling and disabling the software.

  • Only the super administrator is allowed to perform this operation.
  • Toolkit occupies some system resources. For this reason, you are advised to disable it if it is not needed.

Procedure

  • Enable Toolkit
    1. Log in to DeviceManager.
    2. Choose Settings > Enable Toolkit.
    3. Carefully read Info and click OK.
    4. In the Success dialog box that is displayed, click OK.

      The command for enabling Toolkit is successfully executed.

  • Disable Toolkit
    1. Log in to DeviceManager.
    2. Choose Settings > Disable Toolkit.
    3. Carefully read the content of the Warning dialog box that is displayed and select I have read and understood the consequences associated with performing this operation. Click OK.
    4. In the Success dialog box that is displayed, click OK.

      The command for disabling Toolkit is successfully executed.
