Configuring SMS Notification

After the SMS notification is successfully set, alarms are sent through SMS to a specific recipient in real time. Before enabling SMS notification, ensure that an SMS modem is installed and a SIM card is inserted.


An SMS modem has been installed and a SIM card has been inserted. For details, see OceanStor 9000 Hardware Installation Guide


  1. Log in to DeviceManager.
  2. Choose Settings > Alarm Settings > SM Notification.
  3. Select Enable.
  4. Specify the service number of the SMS center.

    The format of the service number of the SMS center is: plus sign (+)+country code+service number of the SMS center in the region where the OceanStor 9000 resides.

  5. Add recipient information, as shown in Figure 16-4.
    1. Click Add.
    2. In the Add Recipient Information dialog box that is displayed, set Recipient Phone Number to the recipient mobile phone number, select alarm severities for alarms to be sent in Alarm Severity, and click OK.

      If the recipient mobile phone number is not a native number, it must be in the format of plus sign (+)+country code+phone number.

      Alarm Severity can be Critical, Major, Warning, and/or Informational.

      The Recipient Phone Number contains a minimum of 3 characters.

    3. Click OK.

  6. In the Recipient Phone Number list, select a recipient mobile phone number and click Test. In the dialog box that is displayed, click OK.

    • If the settings are correct, the mobile phone number will receive a test short message.
    • If the settings are incorrect, the mobile phone number cannot receive a test short message. In this case, reset the recipient information.
