Logging In to DeviceManager


  • The management terminal is communicating correctly with the OceanStor 9000 management network.
  • The browser on the management terminal meets compatibility requirements.OceanStor Interoperability Navigator lists the operating systems and browsers supported by DeviceManager.
  • Do not configure NAT IP address mapping for the management IP address of OceanStor 9000. Otherwise, users cannot log in to DeviceManager using the management IP address.


DeviceManager is accessible using a web browser, and can be invoked using its interface in the format of https://IP:8088/deviceManager/v1/rest/xx/sessions and https://IP:8088/deviceManager/rest/xx/sessions. IP indicates the management IP address of the OceanStor 9000.


  1. On the management terminal, open the browser.

    This document uses Internet Explorer 11.0 as an example to explain how to log in to DeviceManager in a Windows operating system.

    Ensure that Internet Explorer 11.0 is not working in compatibility view mode. If the browser is not compatible with DeviceManager, adjust the browser settings when prompted.

  2. Type https://IPv4:8088 or https://[IPv6]:8088 in the address box and press Enter.

    IPv4 or IPv6 indicates the management IP address of the OceanStor 9000.

    If you cannot log in to DeviceManager using a management IP address, recover the management network and try again.

  3. If There is a problem with this website's security certificate is displayed, click Continue to this website (not recommended) to go to the DeviceManager login page.
  4. Optional: Import the security certificate.
    1. On the right of the address box, click Certificate Error. In the dialog box that is displayed, click View Certificates.
    2. In the Certificate dialog box that is displayed, click Install Certificate. Certificate Import Wizard is displayed.
    3. Read the message displayed in the wizard and click Next.
    4. Select Place all certificates in the following store and click Browse.

      If you select Automatically select the certificate store based on the type of certificate, a message will be displayed in Windows 7 indicating a certificate error.

    5. In the Select Certificate store dialog box that is displayed, select Trusted Root Certification Authorities and click OK. The Certificate Import Wizard dialog box is displayed.
    6. Perform operations as prompted. In the Security Warning dialog box that is displayed, confirm the certificate source and click Yes to import the security certificate.
    7. After the security certificate is imported, close the browser and open it again. Then, enter https://IPv4:8088 or https://[IPv6]:8088 to go to the DeviceManager login page.

    If There is a problem with this website's security certificate is displayed in later login attempts, you do not need to import the security certificate again. Instead, directly click Continue to this website (not recommended) to go to the login page.

  5. Optional: Click Advanced and select a language.
  6. Set Username and Password and click Log In. Then, type them in Username and Password. If you type an incorrect user name or password for two consecutive times, you need you type a verification code in Verification code, and then click Log In.

    The default user name and password are admin and Admin@storage, respectively.

    • Both the user name and password are case-sensitive.
    • After a security policy is configured, a user account will be locked if its password is incorrectly entered more than the number of times specified by Allowed times for entering incorrect passwords. For details, see Security and Certificate Management > Configuring Security Policy for Administrator Accounts.
    • After using system accounts to log in to DeviceManager for the first time, users must change their initial passwords for security purposes and are advised to regularly change their passwords.
    • If multiple users use the same account to log in to DeviceManager, the login client information is displayed in at the lower right corner.
