Configuring External DNSs

When the OceanStor 9000 connects to the Identity and Access Management (IAM) server through domain names, IP addresses for external domain name servers (DNSs) need to be configured for resolving the domain names.

Context

After the active DNS IP address is deleted, the standby DNS IP address automatically changes to the active one.

Procedure

  1. Log in to DeviceManager.
  2. Choose Settings > Cluster Settings > Basic Information > External DNS Settings.
  3. Enter Active DNS IP Address and Standby DNS IP Address. Table 13-3 lists the related parameters.

    The type of active DNS:
    • If you select Front-End Business Network, the active DNS server can connect the storage system through the front-end business network or management network.
    • If you select Management Network, the active DNS server can connect the storage system through management network.

    IP address of the active DNS

    Standby DNS Type

    The type of standby DNS:

  4. After the active and standby DNS IP addresses are configured, click Test to test the connectivity between the system and the active and standby DNSs.
  5. Click Save. In the Alert dialog box, select I have read and understood the consequences associated with performing this operation.
  6. Click OK to finish configuring the external DNS server.
