Container-based Services

Container-based Services

The object storage service enables you to create and delete Containers, and configure the access control list (ACL) policy and website.

Overview

A series of basic object storage services can be provided based on Containers. This section briefly describes the operations that can be performed. For details, see OceanStor 9000 Object Storage Service (Compatible with OpenStack Swift APIs) API Reference.

Basic Container Operations

OceanStor 9000 object storage supports the following basic Container operations:

  • Create a Container: Create a new Container with the specified name.
  • Delete a Container: Delete an empty Container or batch delete empty Containers.
  • Query a Container: Query information about a Container and the Object list of this Container.
  • Manage the metadata of a Container: Create, update, and delete the metadata of a Container.
    NOTE:
The metadata here refers to the description about the Container defined by the user instead of the internal metadata for system management.

ACL Policy Configuration

  • Set the ACL policy for a Container: Set the read and write ACL policy for a specific Container.
  • Delete the ACL policy of a Container: Delete the ACL policy of a specific Container.

Website Configuration

Data stored in object storage Containers can respond to user requests in static page mode. This function is enabled for anonymous users by default and can be enabled for authenticated users too.

  • Configure index.html: Specify the default homepage of Containers when being accessed.
  • Configure error.html: Specify the page that is returned if an error occurs when accessing Containers.
  • Configure listing: Configure that the Object list in the Container can be displayed when index.html is not configured.
  • Configure listing.css: Configure the CSS (cascading style sheets) loaded to display the Object list.
  • Configure the directory type: Configure the type of Objects that can be displayed as folders.
  • Query the website configuration: Query the current configuration of the website.
  • Delete the website configuration: Delete the current configuration of the website.
