Suggestions for Planning a Secure Network

Suggestions for Planning a Secure Network

When planning a secure network for the OceanStor 9000 system, you must consider how to divide secure domains, control border access, and prevent network intrusion.

OceanStor 9000 Security Network

The OceanStor 9000's secure physical network architecture separates the user's service network from the management network, ensuring secure system operation. Figure 3-1 shows the network of OceanStor 9000.

Planning a Secure Network

Figure 3-2 shows a secure system network which is based on the requirements of secure domain division, border access control, and network intrusion detection.

In the service network of a storage system, OceanStor 9000 system cluster and the NMS are in the same secure network. Remote users need to pass a firewall to visit OceanStor 9000.

The management function is generally used on internal networks, so its security risks may be ignored sometimes. It is advised to enhance security protection on the management side in networking, for example, configure a switch whitelist.
