Automatically Logging In to the Phone LCD Screen

Background

When the EC6.1 solution or later is used, the IP phone is connected to the eSight after being powered on. The IP phone automatically obtains account information and completes registration so that IP phone users do not need to configure any data.

Figure 2-1 shows the IP phone login process.

Figure 2-1 IP phone login process

Process description:

  • Using the redirection server (only for the EC6.1 and EC19.0 solution)
    1. The USM (uPortal) sends the IP phone information (such as the account, serial number, and registration password) to the eSight.
    2. The USM sends the IP phone SN and the enterprise's eSight address to the redirection server.
    3. The IP phone accesses the redirection server after being powered on and connected to the network. The redirection server identifies the enterprise to which the IP phone belongs based on the serial number and sends the corresponding eSight address.
    4. The IP phone accesses the eSight. The eSight delivers key configuration information to the IP phone based on the serial number.
    5. The IP phone is registered and the home screen is displayed.
  • Not using the redirection server
    1. The USM (uPortal) sends the IP phone information (such as the account, serial number, and registration password) to the eSight.
    2. After the IP phone is powered on and connected to the network, the IP phone obtains the eSight address.
    3. The IP phone accesses the eSight. The eSight delivers key configuration information to the terminal based on the serial number.
    4. The IP phone is registered and the home screen is displayed.

Prerequisites

The system administrator has completed related configurations on the server. For details, see the CloudEC Product Documentation.

Procedure

After being powered on, the IP phone automatically completes registration and login. The home screen is displayed.

NOTE:

If your IP phone connects to the public network in automatic registration mode, the IP phone accesses the redirection server deployed on Huawei public cloud when being powered on. The request contains the terminal SN. The response of the redirection server contains the terminal management server address, and the interface is encrypted using HTTPS.

  1. Power on your IP phone and connect it to the network.
  2. Tap Log In on the right of the status bar.

    • The PIN code consists of only digits for facilitating login on the LCD screen. Its complexity is low, bringing security risks. Use the PIN code with caution.
