PIN-Code

PIN-Code

The PIN-Code function implements differentiated control over the outgoing call rights for different users of the same phone. A PIN code is a call barring service password assigned to some users.

Common users are allowed to dial the numbers with certain prefixes depending on the call rights assigned to the phone numbers they use, while users with PIN codes can dial more numbers within the PIN-Code service rights.

NOTE:

Before using the PIN-Code function, ensure that the PIN-code function has been configured and enabled for your account on the server. For any questions, contact your system administrator or see the eSpace UC Product Documentation.

Using the PIN-Code Function

After you pick up a phone with the PIN-Code function enabled and dial a number:

NOTE:

You can select a contact on the Contacts or History screen.

  • If the called number prefix requires outgoing call rights authentication, enter your PIN code as prompted and place a call.
  • If the called number prefix does not require outgoing call rights authentication, you can directly place a call based on the call rights assigned to your phone account.
NOTE:

Obtain your PIN code from your system administrator, and keep your PIN code secure to avoid unnecessary charge caused by unauthorized use of the PIN code. If you want to change your PIN code, contact your system administrator.

Assume that your account 7000 has been assigned only the intra-office call rights, 0 is the outgoing prefix for dialing national toll calls, the PIN code is 6135438, and the outgoing calls rights are intra-office, local, national toll, and international toll calls.

  • Dialing a barred number

Pick up the phone, dial 0 and an external number, and enter the PIN code and the pound key as prompted.

  • Dialing a permitted number

Pick up the phone, and dial 7 and an intra-office number.
