Converged Conference (EC6.0)

eSpace 8950 supports interconnection with the converged conference of CloudEC V600R006 solution from V200R003C30SPC100.

NOTE:
  • Ensure that your login mode is account login and has been assigned the instant conference service rights on the server.
  • Ensure that on the phone web page, you have enabled conference right and set the conference type to USM conference.
  • Ensure that you have configured the video conference server address on the phone LCD screen or web page if you need to join a video conference. The IP phone as the moderator can support a conference with at most 20 participants, of which at most 16 participants can join the conference in video mode. The rest participants can join the conference only in audio mode.

Creating a Conference

You can create a converged conference in any of the ways listed in Table 41-11.

  1. Tap .
  2. In the conference list screen, tap .
  3. Enter the number of a participant and tap .
    NOTE:
    • You can select contacts on the contact list, or call history tab, and then tap .
    • If you want to add participants using the Contacts tab, you can tap a contact and change the contact's number to be invited to the conference.
  4. Tap Audio Conference or Video Conference.
NOTE:
  • You can upgrade an audio conference to a video conference, but you cannot change a video conference to an audio conference.
  • If video conferences are required, configure the video conferencing server address on the phone LCD screen or web page. The IP phone as the moderator can support a conference with at most 20 participants, of which at most 16 participants can join the conference in video mode. The rest participants can join the conference only in audio mode.
  • You can create an instant conference during a call. If the create operation fails, your phone automatically changes the instant conference to a local conference.

Create a converged conference using Conference (converting a call to a conference)

Tap Conference during the call with user B.

NOTE:

When a chair changes a call to a conference, participants are not advised to perform any operations.

Create a converged conference using Merge Call

The call between you and User B is in ongoing, and the call between you and User C is placed on hold.

Tap Merge Call to create a local conference.

NOTE:

If there are multiple calls on the current line, you can tap Merge Call. In the dialog box that is displayed, you can merge calls.

Create a converged conference through a conference record

If a conference record exists, you can select the record and tap Start Again to start a conference with the participants in the conference record.

Create a converged conference by dialing a conference access code

If you have scheduled a converged conference using eSpace Portal, you can tap Join on the right of the conference record or directly dial the conference access code and create a converged conference as prompted.

NOTE:
  • You can join a conference using Join at most five minutes ahead of the conference start time.
  • If the scheduled conference start time arrives but you have not joined the conference, your IP phone will receive a call. You can answer the call to join the conference.
  • For details about how to schedule a conference using eSpace Portal, see the eSpace UC Product Documentation.

Joining a Conference

You can join a converged conference in any of the ways listed in Table 41-12.

Join a converged conference by dialing numbers

  1. Enter the keypad screen.
  2. Dial the conference access code.
  3. Enter the password and tap .

    Enter the participant password (Attendee Passcode) if you are a participant and enter the moderator password (Convener Passcode) if you are the moderator, followed by a pound key.

A message is displayed on the phone screen, indicating that you have joined a converged conference.

NOTICE:

To avoid the risks incurred by the system's remembering the password in the call record, the method of directly dialing the conference access code, star key, password, and pound key in sequence to join a conference is not recommended.

Join a converged conference using an eSpace client upon invitation

Answer the conference call.

A message is displayed on the phone screen, indicating that you have joined a converged conference.

Join a converged conference using the Web Meeting client upon invitation

Answer the conference call.

A message is displayed on the phone screen, indicating that you have joined a converged conference.

Join a converged conference with a button tap

  1. Tap .
  2. Select the conference to join.
  3. Tap Join.
NOTE:

The conference to join must have started. You cannot join a conference that is not started.

Performing Conference Control Operations

You can perform the operations described in the following tables after joining a converged conference.

NOTE:

You can tap in the lower part of the phone screen to view the participant list of the current conference.

Add a participant

  1. On the conference screen, tap to access the dialing screen.
  2. Add the number of a participant.
    NOTE:

    You can also select a contact on the contacts or call history screen and tap .

  3. Tap OK.
NOTE:

The maximum number of participants allowed in a conference is specified when the convener creates the conference on the server. The IP phone functioning as the moderator supports a maximum of 19 participants.

Delete a participant

  1. Tap the profile picture of a participant.
  2. Tap Delete.
  3. In the dialog box that is displayed, tap OK.

View the details of a participant

  1. Tap the profile picture of a participant.
  2. Tap Details.

Change the display sequence of a participant

  1. Tap a participant in the participant list.
  2. Tap Replace and tap the replacing participant.

Mute a participant

  1. Tap the profile picture of a participant.
  2. Tap Mute.
NOTE:

To unmute a participant, tap Unmute.

Mute or unmute yourself

  • To mute yourself: Press while on a call.
  • To unmute yourself: Press while in the mute state.

Enable or disable local video

  1. Tap .
  2. Tap Stop Video or Start Video.

Release the chair

  1. Tap .
  2. In the dialog box that is displayed, tap OK.

Exit a conference

  1. Tap .
  2. In the dialog box that is displayed, tap Exit.
NOTE:

You can also exit a conference by hanging up the phone.

Exit a conference and join the conference again

After you exit a conference, you can join the conference again if the conference is not ended.

  1. Tap .
  2. Select the conference to join.
  3. Tap Join.

End a conference

  1. Tap .
  2. In the dialog box that is displayed, tap End.
