Browsing the Directory

NOTE:

Before using the directory, ensure that your account has been assigned the Directory service rights on the server. For any questions, contact your system administrator.

On the home screen, tap and then Directory.

  • All: displays all contacts.
  • Enterprise: displays contacts in the enterprise.
  • Enterprise Common: displays common contacts in the enterprise.
  • Group: displays contacts at the group level.
  • Group Common: displays common contacts at the group level.
  • Personal: displays personal common contacts.
NOTE:
  • Some common contacts in Enterprise Common/Group Common are not contained in Enterprise/Group .
  • A maximum of 1000 contacts can be displayed on the phone.

Tap a tab to view the corresponding contact list, and swipe up or down in the contact list to view contacts.

Tap at the upper right corner to update contacts in the corresponding contact list.

Searching for Contacts

NOTE:

If you have changed the directory authentication password, you need to enter the authentication password again when you search the directory for the first time after the change.

Search for All

  1. Tap at the upper right corner of the Directory screen to access the directory search screen.
  2. Enter the name of a contact in the search text box. For example, if you want to search for John, you can enter John or J in the search text box.
  3. Tap Search. All contacts that meet the search criteria in all types of directories are displayed.

Search by Directory Type

  1. Tap at the upper right corner of the Directory screen to access the directory search screen.
  2. Select a range (Enterprise, Enterprise Common, Group, Group Common, or Personal) for contact search as required.
  3. Enter keywords of a contact in the search text box.
  4. Tap Search.

Advanced Search

  1. Tap at the upper right corner of the Directory screen to access the directory search screen.
  2. Tap at the upper right corner and choose Advanced Search.
    NOTE:

    If you perform advanced search directly on the search screen, the system searches for contacts in the entire directory. If you select a directory type (for example, Group) before performing advanced search, the system searches for contacts only in the specified directory. For example, if you select Group before performing advanced search, the system searches for contacts only in the Group directory.

  3. On the Advanced Search screen, enter keywords of a contact in corresponding search text boxes.
  4. Tap Search.
NOTE:
  • The keywords that you enter in the search item text boxes are displayed in the search box in the Search item 1:Keyword 1 Search item 2:Keyword 2 Searchitem 3:Keyword 3... format. For example, if you search for a contact whose name is John and phone number is 86938567, First Name:John Phone Number:86938567 is displayed in the search box after you tap Search.
  • You can directly enter or modify search information in the search box in the Searchitem 1:Keyword 1 Search item 2:Keyword 2 Search item 3:Keyword 3... format. However, the search items must be the same as those in Advanced Search.

Adding Contacts in the Directory to My Contacts

You can add contacts in the directory to my contacts so that you can search for and edit these contacts conveniently later.

  1. Tap .
  2. On the Directory tab, tap a contact.
  3. On the contact details screen, tap Save as New Contact.
  4. Edit contact information as required.
  5. Tap Done.
