Network Conference (BroadWorks)

NOTE:
  • Before using the network conference function, ensure that your account has been assigned the network conference service right on the server.
  • Ensure that you have enabled the instant conference service rights on the phone web page.
  • For any questions, contact your system administrator.

You can create a network conference using Conf or Merge Call. For detailed operations, see Table 41-5.

If You Want to...

Create a network conference using Conf on the talking screen

  1. You (for example, user A) are talking with user B. You tap Conf.
  2. You select or enter the number of user C.
  3. You tap or .
  4. User C answers the call and you can talk with user C. Then you tap .

Create a network conference using Merge Call

  1. The call between you and user B is in ongoing, and the call between you and user C is placed on hold.
  2. You tap Merge Call to create a network conference.
NOTE:

If there are multiple calls on the current line, you can tap Merge Call. In the dialog box that is displayed, you can merge calls.

After a conference created on a shared line is placed on hold, the peer party of the shared line can switch the line and tap Resume to connect to the conference and view the status of participants.

After a network conference is created, the conference initiator can manage the conference. Table 41-6 describes detailed operations.

Add a participant

  1. On the conference screen, tap . The keypad is displayed.
  2. Enter or select the number of a user.
  3. Tap or .
  4. Tap when the user answers the call.
NOTE:

A maximum of 15 participants (including the moderator) can be added to a conference.

Remove a participant

  1. Tap the profile picture of a participant.
  2. Tap Delete.
  3. In the dialog box that is displayed, tap OK.

View the details of a participant

  1. Tap the profile picture of a participant.
  2. Tap Details.

Change an audio conference to a video conference

  1. Tap .
  2. Tap Video Conference.

Enable or disable local video

  1. Tap .
  2. Tap Stop Video or Start Video.

Mute or unmute yourself

  • To mute yourself: Press or tap .
  • To unmute yourself: Press or tap while in the mute state.
NOTE:

During a conference, the moderator cannot mute other participants. The moderator can only view the mute status of other participants.

End a conference

Hang up the phone or tap .

In a voice conference, the call screen is displayed on a common participant's phone.

In a video conference, a common participant can view the local video and videos of other participants, and enable or disable the local video.

A participant can hang up the phone or tap to leave the current conference.
