SOA

SOA

In the UC2.X network environment, eSpace 7910/7950 IP phones support the SOA subscription service, which can implement status monitoring for the AT0 trunk link on the FXO port.

If the subscribed AT0 trunk link on the FXO port is idle, you can press the programmable button to occupy the link and directly dial a real external number to initiate an outgoing call through the link. This reduces the possibility of notifying trunk link unavailability when users make outgoing calls.

Prerequisites

The SOA service rights have been configured for account on the unified gateway.

Configuring the SOA Service

The IP phone supports the following SOA service configuration methods:

  • Use an idle line button or programmable button on the phone for the configuration. For details, see Buttons.
  • Configure on the web page. For details, see Line and Programmable Buttons.

Using the SOA Function

The IP phone can monitor the status of common AT0 trunk links. The indicators of programmable buttons may be in the following states:

  • Steady green: indicates that the subscribed AT0 trunk link is idle.
  • Steady red: indicates that the subscribed AT0 trunk link is busy, including calling, off-hook, ringing, and dialing.
  • Off: indicates that the subscribed AT0 trunk link is faulty.

When the AT0 trunk link is idle, you can perform the following operations to make an outgoing call:

  1. Press the programmable button to go to the dialing screen.
  2. Enter an external number.
  3. Press Call.
  • An eSpace 7910 IP phone can monitor a maximum of 10 FXO ports.
  • An eSpace 7950 IP phone can monitor a maximum of 20 FXO ports.
  • If a subscribed AT0 trunk link on the FXO port is idle, a user can press the programmable button to occupy the link. Within 30 seconds, the user can directly dial a called number without the outgoing prefix to initiate an outgoing call through the FXO link. If the user does not make an outgoing call within 30 seconds, the occupied link is automatically released.
