License Application:What Is ESN? Is an ESN Absolutely Necessary?

Huawei binds a device's unique identifier with a license file to prevent unauthorized use of the license file.

When applying for a license file, you need to enter the device's ESN and encrypt the ESN as part of the license file. After the system starts and a license file is imported, the system compares the device's ESN with the unique identifier field in the license file to determine whether the license file is valid.

If you enter an invalid ESN when applying for a license, the system displays a message indicating that the license is invalid, and the system enters the protection period.
