Combo port
A combo port supports three working modes: auto, fiber, and copper. You can configure a combo port to work in any mode using the combo-port command. By default, a combo works in auto mode, and the working port is determined in the following way:
- If only an Ethernet cable is connected to the combo port, the electrical port will become the working port after the combo port goes Up.
- If an optical module is installed on a combo port, the optical port will become the working port after the combo port goes Up, regardless of whether an Ethernet cable is connected to the electrical port.
