Function

The change controller offline command is used to take a specified controller offline.

Controller ID.

The value is in the format of "XA", "XB", "XC" or "XD", where the "X" is an integer ranging from 0 to 3.

Usage Guidelines

1.This operation causes the offline controller to fail to receive services.

2.This operation may cause performance fluctuation or interruption of storage services.

3.When the controller is being taken offline, the system cannot handle any events and events may be lost.

4.After taking the controller offline successfully, you need to manually restart or remove and insert the offline controller to log in to the system again.

5.This command cannot be delivered consecutively. In the diagnostic view of the cluster primary controller, run the "sys showcls" command to check whether the last command execution is successful. After ten seconds since the controller is taken offline successfully, perform the next operation.

This operation cause the offline controller to fail to receive services and may cause performance fluctuation or interruption of storage services. When the controller is being taken offline, the system cannot handle any events and events may be lost. After the controller is taken offline successfully, you need to manually restart the controller or remove and reinsert its cables to add it to the system again. 
Suggestion: 
1. Ensure that the system is in the normal state. 
2. Ensure that on the engine where the controller resides, a redundant link is configured for service ports. 
3. Ensure that no operation is being executed or waiting to be executed on the primary controller of the current cluster. The method is to run the "sys showcmdlist" command in the diagnostic view of the primary controller. 
4. This command cannot be delivered consecutively. In the diagnostic view of the cluster primary controller, run the "sys showcls" command to check whether the last command execution is successful. After ten seconds since the controller is taken offline successfully, perform the next operation.
