Function

The change virtual_machine general command is used to modify virtual machine (VM) configurations.

Format

change virtual_machine general vm_id=? { failover_switch=? | memory=? | vcpu_count=? | sys_disk_bus=? | first_start_mode=? | name=? | hyperv_switch=? } *

vm_id=?

VM ID.

To obtain the value, run the "show virtual_machine general" command without parameters.

failover_switch=?

Whether to enable the failover function.

The value can be:

  • "on": enables the failover function.
  • "off": disables the failover function.

first_start_mode=?

Startup mode of the VM.

The value can be "HD" or "CDROM", where:

  • "HD": uses the HD mode.
  • "CDROM": uses CDROM mode.

memory=?

Maximum memory that the VM can adjust.

The value ranges from 128 MB to 1 TB.

sys_disk_bus=?

Bus mode of the system disk.

The value can be "IDE" or "VIRTIO", where:

  • "IDE": uses the IDE bus.
  • "VIRTIO": uses VIRTIO bus.

vcpu_count=?

Number of CPUs.

The value is an integer between 1 and 32.

name=?

Name of the VM.

The value contains 1 to 63 characters, including letters, digits and underscores (_).

hyperv_switch

Whether to enable the Hyper-V virtualization feature.

The value can be:

  • "on": enables the Hyper-V virtualization feature.
  • "off": disables the Hyper-V virtualization feature.

  • Change the memory size of a VM.

  • Change the bus mode of system disks in a VM.
