poweroff virtual_machine

Function

The poweroff virtual_machine command is used to power off a virtual machine (VM).

Format

poweroff virtual_machine vm_id=? [ is_force=? ]

Parameters

vm_id=?

VM ID.

To obtain the value, run the "show virtual_machine general" command without parameters.

is_force=?

Whether the VM is forcibly powered off.

The value can be "yes" or "no", where:

  • "yes": The VM is forcibly powered off.
  • "no": The VM is not forcibly powered off.

Example

  • Power off a VM.
    admin:/>poweroff virtual_machine vm_id=1 
    WARNING: You are about to power off a virtual machine. This operation will interrupt all the services on the virtual machine, maybe cause data loss. 
    Suggestion: Before performing this operation, ensure that data has been saved. 
    Have you read warning message carefully?(y/n)y 
    Are you sure you really want to perform the operation?(y/n)y 
    Command executed successfully.
  • Forcibly power off a VM.
    admin:/>poweroff virtual_machine vm_id=65537 is_force=yes 
    DANGER: You are about to forcibly power off a virtual machine. This operation will interrupt all the services on the virtual machine, maybe cause data loss. 
    Suggestion: Before performing this operation, ensure that all data has been saved. 
    Have you read danger alert message carefully?(y/n)y 
    Are you sure you really want to perform the operation?(y/n)y 
    Command executed successfully.
