Format

change port eth eth_port_id=? { mtu=? [ is_host_port=? ] | work_mode=? } *

Parameters

Parameter

Description

Value

eth_port_id=?

ID of a port.

To obtain the value, run "show port general". The value contains 1 to 31 characters, including letters, digits, and periods (.). The value cannot start with a digit or a period (.), or end with a period (.).

mtu=?

Size of the largest packet that can be transmitted on a certain layer of a protocol.

The value ranges from 1280 to 9000, expressed in bytes. (If the running type of a maintenance/host port is changed to "host", the value ranges from 1280 to 1500.).

is_host_port=?

Whether the port is a host port. This operation is valid for a S2600T only. When the value is set to "yes", you can set the management port H4 or the maintenance port H5 as a host port.

The value can be "yes" or "no", where:

  • "yes": The port is a host port.
  • "no": The port is not a host port.

The default value is "no".

running_type=?

Running type of a port. This operation is valid for 2100 V3, 2200 V3, 2600 V3, 2600F V3, 2600 V3 Video Surveillance Edition, . This parameter can be configured in developer mode only. For details about how to log in to the developer mode, see the Advanced O&M Command Reference.

The value can be "host", "management", or "maintenance", where:

  • "host": The running type of the management/host port or maintenance/host port is changed to host.

Example

  • Set the MTU of the Ethernet port "CTE0.A1.P0" to "1600" bytes. The ID and output vary depending on a specific product.
    admin:/>change port eth eth_port_id=CTE0.A1.P0 mtu=1600
    DANGER: You are about to modify the MTU of the Ethernet port.
    This operation may interrupt services or cause service exceptions.
    Suggestion: Before performing this operation, determine whether the modification is necessary.
    Have you read danger alert message carefully?(y/n)y
    Are you sure you really want to perform the operation?(y/n)y
    Command executed successfully.
  • Set the work mode of the Ethernet port "CTE0.A3.P0" to "40GE_NOFEC". The ID and output vary depending on a specific product.
    admin:/>change port eth eth_port_id=CTE0.A3.P0 work_mode=40GE_NOFEC
    DANGER: You are about to modify the work mode of Ethernet port. If the work mode of the Ethernet port does not match the work mode of the peer Ethernet port, the operation will interrupt the connection.
    Suggestion: Before performing this operation, you are advised to determine the work mode supported by the peer Ethernet port.
