Based on the CLI provided by the DeviceManager, this document describes how to use variouscommands classified by functions and how to set the CLI and manage the storage system throughthese commands. change file_system_tier_policy

Function

The change file_system_tier_policy command is used to modify the file policy for the file system.

Value

policy_id

Policy ID.

The value ranges from 0 to 2^64 – 1.

file_system_id

File system ID.

The value ranges from 0 to 65535.

priority_policy_id_list

Policy ID list. The value is used to modify the policy priority and policy IDs are separated with commas (,).

NOTE:

All policy IDs of the corresponding file system must be entered.

policy_name

Policy name.

The value can contain 1 to 31 characters and consists of only digits, letters, and underscores (_).

policy_description

Policy description.

The value contains 1 to 255 characters.

time_type

Time type.

The value can be "access_time", "change_time", "modify_time", "create_time", or "disable".

  • "access_time": access time.
  • "change_time": change time.
  • "modify_time": modification time.
  • "create_time": creation time.
  • "disable": disables the time policy.

time_logic

Time logic.

The value can be "greater" or "less_or_equal".

  • "greater": greater.
  • "less_or_equal": less or equal.

time

Time.

The value ranges from 1 to 3650 days, 1 to 120 months, or 1 to 10 years (30 days a month and 365 days a year).

For example, you can enter 3650D, 120M, or 10Y to stand for 3650 days, where "D" indicates days, "M" months, and "Y" years.

ssd_utilization_logic

SSD usage logic.

The value can be "greater" or "disable".

  • "greater": greater.
  • "disable": disables the SSD usage policy.
NOTE:

This SSD usage policy is valid only when the file system is configure with the SSD capacity threshold and the target storage medium is HDD.

ssd_utilization_percent

SSD usage.

The value can be 50%, 55%, 60%, 65%, 70%, 75%, or 80%.

file_name_logic

File name logic.

The value can be "match", "does_not_match", or "disable".

  • "match": match.
  • "does_not_match": does not match.
  • "disable": disables the file name policy.

file_name

File name.

The value is in the format of name1:name2. A file name can contain a maximum of 255 bytes and the total length can be of 512 bytes at most (including ending symbols). A maximum of 30 file names can be entered and separated with colons (:). Wildcard characters question marks (?) and asterisks (*) are supported; however, asterisks (*) can only be put on the ending of the value and characters \/"<>| are excluded.

file_extension_logic

File name extension logic.

The value can be "match", "does_not_match", or "disable".

  • "match": match.
  • "does_not_match": does not match.
  • "disable": disables the file name extension policy.

file_extension

Extended file name.

The value is in the format of extn1:extn2. A file name extension can contain a maximum of 127 bytes and the total length can be of 512 bytes at most (including ending symbols). A maximum of 30 name extensions can be entered and separated with colons (:). Characters \/"<>|*?. are excluded.

size_logic

File size logic.

The value can be "greater", "less_or_equal", or "disable".

  • "greater": greater.
  • "less_or_equal": less or equal.
  • "disable": disables the file size policy.

size

File size.

The value ranges from 3 to 4,294,967,295 KB, 1 to 4,294,967,295 MB, or 1 to 4,294,967,295 GB.

target_storage_medium

Target storage medium.

The value can be "SSD" or "HDD".

Example

  • Modify the Atime-based file policy for the file system.
    admin:/>change file_system_tier_policy policy_id=8 time_type=access_time time_logic=greater time=365D 
    DANGER: You are about to configure the Atime-based SmartTier policy for the file system. 
    This operation may cause the frequently accessed files on the file system to be relocated and the speed of accessing the relocated files to be slow when automatic update of Atime is not enabled. 
    If the relocation task is running, this operation will stop the relocation. If the task Schedule Type is not Immediately, it can be executed only in the next period. If the task Schedule Type is Immediately, it must be manually triggered. 
    Suggestion: Before performing this operation, check whether automatic update of Atime needs to be enabled for the file system. If yes, enable it. Wait for a period of time and enable the Atime-based policy after the file Atime is updated.

  • Modify the file policy priority for the file system.
    admin:/>change file_system_tier_policy file_system_id=0 priority_policy_id_list=3,9,6 
    CAUTION: You are about to modify SmartTier file policies of the file system. If the relocation task is running, this operation will stop the relocation. If the task Schedule Type is not Immediately, it can be executed only in the next period. If the task Schedule Type is Immediately, it must be manually triggered. 
    Suggestion: Before performing this operation, ensure that the risk is acceptable.
