change storage_pool general

change storage_pool general

Function

The change storage_pool general command is used to modify the properties of a storage pool, including the name, capacity alarm threshold, protection capacity alarm threshold, and storage tier capacity.

Format

change storage_pool general pool_id=? { name=? | full_threshold=? | pause_relocation_switch=? | tier0_capacity=? | tier1_capacity=? | tier2_capacity=? | full_protect_threshold=? | description=? | auto_deactivate_snapshot_switch=? | protect_allocate_ratio=? | protect_fixed_reserve=? | protect_reserve_threshold=? } *

Parameters

Parameter

Description

Value

pool_id=?

Storage pool ID.

To obtain the value, run "show storage_pool general".

name=?

New name of a storage pool.

The value contains 1 to 31 ASCII characters, including digits, letters, underscores (_), hyphens (-), and periods (.).

full_threshold=?

Capacity alarm threshold.

The value ranges from 1 to 95, expressed in percentage (%).

The default value is "80".

pause_relocation_switch=?

Data relocation status.

Possible values are:

  • "continue": Data relocation is proceeding.
  • "pause": Data relocation is suspended.

tier0_capacity=?

Capacity of tier 0 (high performance tier).

  • The value is in the format of "capacity+unit". The unit can be GB or TB.
  • The value ranges from 0 GB to 12,864 TB.
  • If the user wants to shrink the capacity of the tier, run the "show storage_pool tier" command to obtain the shrink range.
  • If the user wants to expand the capacity of the tier, run the "show disk_domain general disk_domain_id" command to obtain the free capacity of the disk domain where this storage pool belongs.

tier1_capacity=?

Capacity of tier 1 (performance tier).

  • The value is in the format of "capacity+unit". The unit can be GB or TB.
  • The value ranges from 0 GB to 12,864 TB.
  • If the user wants to shrink the capacity of the tier, run the "show storage_pool tier" command to obtain the shrink range.
  • If the user wants to expand the capacity of the tier, run the "show disk_domain general disk_domain_id" command to obtain the free capacity of the disk domain where this storage pool belongs.

tier2_capacity=?

Capacity of tier 2 (capacity tier).

  • The value is in the format of "capacity+unit". The unit can be GB or TB.
  • The value ranges from 0 GB to 12,864 TB.
  • If the user wants to shrink the capacity of the tier, run the "show storage_pool tier" command to obtain the shrink range.
  • If the user wants to expand the capacity of the tier, run the "show disk_domain general disk_domain_id" command to obtain the free capacity of the disk domain where this storage pool belongs.

full_protect_threshold=?

Alarm threshold (%) of capacity consumed by all LUNs in the storage pool for data protection.

The value ranges from 1 to 100, expressed in percentage (%).

The default value is 100.

description

Storage pool description.

The value contains 1 to 255 characters.

auto_deactivate_snapshot_switch

Whether to automatically deactivate snapshots that are not mapped to hosts when the storage pool is used up.

The value can be "yes" or "no", where:

  • "yes": automatically deactivate snapshots that are not mapped to hosts when the storage pool is used up.
  • "no": do not automatically deactivate snapshots when the storage pool is used up.

protect_fixed_reserve

Fixed capacity reserved for data protection.

The value is an integer, expressed in GB or TB. The value is smaller than the storage pool size.

protect_allocate_ratio

Pre-allocation ratio of data protection capacity.

The value ranges from 0 to 100, expressed in percentage (%). The default value is 0.

protect_reserve_threshold

Maximum capacity reserved for data protection.

The value is an integer, expressed in GB or TB. The value is smaller than the storage pool size.

Level

Usage Guidelines

None

Example

  • Change the capacity of tier 1 in storage pool "0" to 500 GB.
    admin:/>change storage_pool general pool_id=0 tier1_capacity=500GB
    Change storage pool general successfully.
  • Change the capacity of tier 1 in storage pool "0" to 300 GB.
    admin:/>change storage_pool general pool_id=0 tier1_capacity=300GB
    Change storage pool general successfully.
  • Change the capacity of tier 1 in storage pool "0" to 100 GB.
    admin:/>change storage_pool general pool_id=0 tier1_capacity=100GB
    Change storage pool general successfully.
  • In storage pool "0", change the pre-allocation ratio of data protection capacity to 20%, fixed capacity reserved for data protection to "20GB", and maximum capacity reserved for data protection to "50GB".
    admin:/>change storage_pool general pool_id=0 protect_allocate_ratio=20 protect_fixed_reserve=20GB protect_reserve_threshold=50GB
    Change storage pool general successfully.
