change vlan_offload state

change vlan_offload state

The change vlan_offload state command is used to enable or disable the VLAN offload function, and set the automatic configuration function.

change vlan_offload state eth_port_id=? switch=?

ID of ETH port.

To obtain the value, run "show port general physical_type=ETH".

Switch used to set the VLAN offload function on an ETH physical port of a single IOC card.

The value is "off", "on", or "auto", where:

  • "off": disables the VLAN offload function on an ETH physical port of an IOC card.
  • "on": enables the VLAN offload function on an ETH physical port of an IOC card.
  • "auto": allows the system to automatically determine whether to enable or disable the VLAN offload function.

Usage Guidelines

  • The switch supports dynamic configuration. You are advised to use the dynamic configuration when no services are running on the port. If you set the switch when the services are running, performance may decrease for a short time.
  • The switch is mainly used to configure VLAN services. By default, the switch is in "auto" state and the system will determine whether to enable or disable the VLAN offload function.
  • If you enable the VLAN offload function, the FCoE function cannot be used. The FCoE service and the service configure with a VLAN are not supported to run in the same port.
  • The switch is set for the single ETH physical port of an IOC card.
  • The following cards support the switch: SmartIO card (SmartIO interface card and SmartIO onboard card) and 10GE electrical port card of IOC.
  • If the FCoE function is not supported due to the VLAN offload function, you can set the switch status to "off" for the ports to run FCoE services.

Set the function of offloading the ETH single-port VLAN.

developer:/>change vlan_offload state eth_port_id=CTE0.A.IOM0.P0 switch=on
CAUTION: 1. Before performing this operation, confirm that the operating system type of the host to be created is the same as that of the service host.
2. If the operating system of the service host is Windows, and all thin LUN functions are required to get better experience, select Windows Server 2012.
Suggestion: Confirm again that the correct operating system type has been specified.
