rebootsystem

Function

The rebootsystem command is used to reset the controller operating system through CPLD in the controller's SES serial port mode.

Format

rebootsystem resettype

resettype

Type of restarting the storage system.

The values are described as follows:

  • "0": soft reset.
  • "1": hard reset.

A hexadecimal value is also supported.

Usage Guidelines

  • This command can only be executed on devices integrating disks and controllers.
  • The "rebootsystem 0" command is used to set the soft reset of the operating system.
  • The "rebootsystem 1" command is used to set the hard reset of the operating system.
  • After this command is executed, check whether to continue the reset operation as prompted. If you select "y", enter the serial port login password to complete the reset operation as prompted. If you select "n", you will exit without performing the reset operation.
  • Running this command is a highly risky operation. Execute this command with caution when there are ongoing services because this command may interrupt services.

Example

Run the "rebootsystem 0" command to restart the storage system in soft reset mode.

DANGER: You are about to restart storage system. This may take several minutes. This operation will interrupt all services on the storage system.
