Parameter

Description

Value

file_system_id=?

Indicates the file system ID.

The value is an integer between 0 and 65535.

name=?

Indicates the optimization name.

The value can be:

  • "metadata_space_optimization".
  • "space_exhaust_protect".

Usage Guidelines

  • Before running this command, check that you have selected the correct file system.
  • You must enter the file system ID.
  • OceanStor 6800 V3/2200 V3/2600 V3/5300 V3/5500 V3/5600 V3/5800 V3 storage systems support this command.

Example

  • Enable the metadata space optimization function of the file system "1".
    developer>change file_system optimization file_system_id=1 name=meta_data_optimization enabled=yes
    DANGER: You are about to enable the metadata space optimization function for the file system. This operation makes software version degrade impossible.
    Suggestion: Before performing this operation, ensure that:
    1. No remote replication & hypervault exist on the file system or the remote replication & hypervault on the file system are in the split state.
    2. The entered parameters are correct.
    Have you read danger alert message carefully?(y/n)y

    Are you sure you really want to perform the operation?(y/n)y
    Command executed successfully.
  • Enable the space exhaustion protection function of the file system "1".
    developer>change file_system optimization file_system_id=1 name=space_exhaust_protect enable=yes
    DANGER: You are about to turn on the switch of protecting file system space from being used up. Before performing this operation, note the following:
    1. After the switch is turned on, files cannot be created and data cannot be written to files when the remaining capacity of the file system is insufficient. Under such circumstances, you can only delete and read data. After files or file data is deleted and the remaining capacity of the file system becomes sufficient, files and data can be written to the file system again.
    2. The remaining capacity of a file system depends on the capacity allocated to the file system and the size of the used capacity.
    3. After the switch is turned on, the following circumstance is normal: A message indicating insufficient capacity is displayed upon client operations, but the query result shows that the file system has remaining capacities.
    Suggestion: Before performing this operation, ensur that the switch needs to be turned on for the file system.
  • Disable the space exhaustion protection function of the file system "1".
    developer>change file_system optimization file_system_id=1 name=space_exhaust_protect enable=no
    DANGER: You are about to turn off the switch of protecting file system space from being used up. Before performing this operation, note the following:
    1. After the switch is turned off, the access to the file system will become slow when the remaining capacity of the file system is small. After files or file data is deleted and the remaining capacity of the file system becomes sufficient, the access speed becomes normal.
    Suggestion: Before performing this operation, ensure that the switch needs to be turned off for the file system.
