Connecting the Controller Enclosure to Application Servers (for a SAN)
The controller enclosure is connected to application servers through the iSCSI front-end ports (1 Gbit/s) and TCP offload engine (TOE) front-end ports (10 Gbit/s). The interface modules on the controller enclosure are redundant, so it is recommended that redundant cable connections to the application server be applied.
Context
The rate of the ports on the storage device is adaptive. To ensure an unimpeded link, the rates of the ports on the storage device and the application server (or the switch) must be consistent. If the rates are inconsistent, do the following:
- To set the rate of the ports on the storage device, see OceanStor 2800 V3 V300R006 Basic Storage Service Guide for Block.
- To set the rate of the ports on the application server (or the switch), refer to the documents for the application server (or the switch).
