Installing Adjustable Guide Rails
Adjustable guide rails are used to support storage devices. Due to their adjustable feature, the adjustable rails also allow the storage devices to be installed in the cabinets with different depths.
Prerequisites
The following installation tools and materials are ready:
- M3 to M6 Phillips screwdriver
- Marker
- M6 screws
- Adjustable guide rails
Precautions
- Storage devices must be installed on guide rails. Stacking devices may cause damage.
- The guide rails must be installed horizontally.
Before performing the installation, you are advised to count several U scales upward from the position of the first scale on the bottom of the left mounting bar, then mark the position to ensure that the front and rear height of the adjustable guide rails are the same.
Context
- If possible, start the installation from the bottommost allowed space in your cabinet.
- A pair of adjustable guide rails are included with each storage device.
- The length of the adjustable guide rail ranges from 600 mm to 900 mm.
- The positioning pins come installed on the adjustable guide rails before delivery.
Procedure
- On the front of the cabinet, align the bottom margin of the adjustable guide rail with an integer U scale mark on the mounting bar, and fully insert the front positioning pin into the square hole.
- Stretch the adjustable guide rail and thread the positioning pins through the rear square holes on the mounting bar.
- Attach the adjustable guide rails with M6 screws.
When securing an adjustable guide rail, attach M6 screws (one for a 2 U device and two for a 4 U device) to the specified positions at the front side of the rail, as shown in Figure 5-44 and Figure 5-45. Using extra M6 screws or attaching the screw to other positions will cause collision with the device, resulting in device damage.
- Attach the adjustable guide rails for 4 U storage device, as shown in Figure 5-44.
- Attach the adjustable guide rails for 2 U storage device, as shown in Figure 5-45.
