Enabling the File System Service (Applicable to 18000 Series Storage Systems)

You can enable or disable the file system storage service for a controller enclosure.

Context

  • Enabling the file system service for a controller enclosure will also enable other functions and services related to the file system service on the controller enclosure.
  • Disabling the file system service for a controller enclosure will also disable other functions and services related to the file system service on the controller enclosure. After the file system service is disabled for a controller enclosure, no new file system resource can be created on the controller enclosure, but existing resources are retained. If necessary, you can delete resources before disabling the file system service.
  • Enabling or disabling the file storage service for controller enclosures does not affect service functions of the file system.

Procedure

  1. Log in to DeviceManager.
  2. Choose Settings > Storage Settings > File Storage Service > File Service Settings.
  3. In the controller enclosure list, select Enable or Disable from the File System Service drop-down menu.
  4. Click Save.
