This document is applicable to OceanStor 2200 V3, 2600 V3, 5300 V3, 5500 V3, 5600 V3, 5800 V3, 6800 V3, 18500 V3, and 18800 V3. This document describes the implementation principles and application scenarios of the HyperMirror feature. Also, it explains how to configure and manage HyperMirror.

Procedure for Configuring HyperMirror

HyperMirror configuration includes checking the license file, creating a mirror LUN, and adding a mirror copy.

Figure 2-1 shows the procedure for configuring HyperMirror.

Reference Section

Check the availability of the HyperMirror function.

Check the HyperMirror license file.

Check that the license file is valid and you have permission to use the HyperMirror function.

Checking the License File

Create a HyperMirror task.

Create a mirror LUN.

Use a local or external LUN to create a mirror LUN. A mirror copy of the LUN is automatically generated.

Creating a HyperMirror

Add a mirror copy.

Add another mirror copy of the mirror LUN for redundant data backups.

Verify configured HyperMirror.

Verify the configuration.

After HyperMirror is created, check whether its configuration is available.
