This document is applicable to OceanStor 2200 V3, 2600 V3, 5300 V3, 5500 V3, 5600 V3, 5800 V3, 6800 V3, 18500 V3, and 18800 V3. This document describes the implementation principles and application scenarios of the HyperMirror feature. Also, it explains how to configure and manage HyperMirror.

Splitting a Mirror Copy

After synchronization is complete, you can split a mirror copy at a specific point in time based on service requirements. During the splitting, the data synchronization between the mirror LUN and LUN copy is paused.


  • If there is only one mirror copy in the system, the mirror copy cannot be split.
  • Running Status of the mirror LUN cannot be Offline, and Health Status and Running Status of the mirror copy must be Normal.
  • Running Status of the mirror copy to be split must be Normal, Synchronizing, or Interrupted, and Health Status and Running Status of the other mirror copy must be Normal.


  1. Log in to DeviceManager.
  2. Choose Data Protection > HyperMirror.
  3. In the function pane on the left, select the HyperMirror for which you want to split a mirror copy.
  4. Split the mirror copy.

    1. In the lower function pane, select a mirror copy and click Split.

      The security alert dialog box is displayed.


      You can also right-click the mirror copy that you want to split and choose Split from the shortcut menu.

    2. Confirm the information in the dialog box and click OK.

      The Execution Result dialog box is displayed indicating that the operation succeeded.

    3. Click Close.
