Modifying the Advanced Properties of a Remote Link

This operation enables you to modify the bandwidth and bandwidth usage of a link.


  • The system has a normal remote link.
  • The Device Type of the remote device to which the remote link connects is Replication.


The remote link is either a Fibre Channel or an iSCSI link.


  1. Log in to DeviceManager.
  2. Choose Data Protection > Remote Device.
  3. Select a remote device. On the FC Link or iSCSI Link tab in the lower pane, select the link you want to modify and click Properties.

    The Properties of Link dialog box is displayed.


    You can also right-click the link and choose Properties from the shortcut menu.

  4. Modify the advanced properties of the remote link.

    1. Click Advanced.
    2. Select Set bandwidth and set the advanced properties for the remote link.

      Table 5-3 describes the parameters.

  5. Confirm the modification of the advanced properties.

    1. Click OK.

      The security alert dialog box is displayed.

    2. Confirm the information in the dialog box and select I have read and understand the consequences associated with performing this operation.
    3. Click OK.

      The Execution Result dialog box is displayed, indicating that the operation succeeded.

    4. Click Close.
