This document is applicable to OceanStor 2600 V3, 5300 V3, 5500 V3, 5600 V3, 5800 V3, 6800 V3, 18500 V3, and 18800 V3. This document describes the implementation principles and application scenarios of the SmartPartition feature. Also, it explains how to configure and manage SmartPartition.

Modifying the SmartPartition of LUNs

Modifying the SmartPartition of LUNs

This operation enables you to modify the SmartPartition of a LUN.


At least one LUN has been created.


  1. Log in to DeviceManager.
  2. Choose Provisioning > LUN.
  3. Select the LUN whose properties you want to modify and click Properties.

    The Properties of LUN dialog box is displayed.

  4. Modify SmartPartition information.

    1. In the Properties of LUN dialog box, click the SmartPartition tab.
    2. In the SmartPartition area, select the owning SmartPartition of the LUN based on your need.

    You can click Properties and set the SmartPartition properties as required.

  5. Confirm the modification of the SmartPartition information.

    1. Click OK.

      The Warning dialog box is displayed.

    2. Select I have read and understand the consequences associated with performing this operation and click OK.

      The Execution Result message box is displayed indicating that the operation succeeded.

    3. Click Close.
