Possible Causes

  • Cables are removed or damaged.
  • The optical module of the port or its peer port is faulty.
  • The port or its peer port is faulty.
  • The interface module where the port or its peer port resides is faulty.
  • The topology modes of the port and its peer port mismatch.
  • The rates of the port and its peer port mismatch.

Procedure

  1. Check cables.

    1. If any cable is removed, reinsert it. If the alarm persists=> 1.2.
    2. If any cable is damaged, replace it. If the alarm persists=> 1.3.
    3. If the port has an optical module=> Step2. If no=> 1.4.
    4. If no exceptions are detected=> Step3.

  2. Check whether optical modules of the port and its peer port are damaged.

    1. Remove the optical module of the port first and then that of its peer port. Reinsert the cables. If the alarm persists=> 2.2.
    2. Replace the optical module of the port first and then that of its peer port. Reinsert the cables. If the alarm persists=> Step3.

  3. Check the port configuration.

    1. Check whether the topology mode of the port matches that of its peer port. If no, make adaptation adjustment. If the alarm persists=> 3.2.
    2. Check whether the rate of the port matches that of its peer port. If no, make adaptation adjustment. If the alarm persists=> Step4.

  4. Check whether the ports and interface modules connected by cables are faulty. If yes, rectify the faults. If the alarm persists=> Step5.
  5. Contact technical support engineers.
