The external LUN may have one link only, or go offline.

Possible Causes

  • The cable is not connected or is damaged.
  • The optical module or interface module is faulty.
  • The switch port is faulty, powered off, or its configurations are incorrect.
  • The heterogeneous array is faulty or is powered off.


  1. Check the cable connection.

    1. If the cable is not connected, reinsert the cable. If the alarm persists=> 1.2.
    2. Replace the cable. If the alarm persists=> Step2.

  2. Check whether alarms on the optical module or interface module are generated. If yes, handle the alarm with recommended actions. If the alarm persists=> Step3.
  3. Check the switch status and configurations. If the switch is faulty, is powered off, or has incorrect configurations, recover the problem. If the alarm persists=> Step4.
  4. Check the status of the heterogeneous array. If the heterogeneous array has faults or is powered off, recover the problem. If the alarm persists=> Step5.
  5. Collect related information and contact technical support engineers.
