Impact on the System
- When HyperMetro or synchronous remote replication is configured between storage arrays, degrading the replication link may degrade system performance and reliability, or even affect host services.
- When asynchronous remote replication is configured between storage arrays, degrading the replication link may affect the synchronization speed.
Possible Causes
- Packet loss or bit errors occur on the local or remote port.
- Packet loss, disorder, or bit errors occur on the switch.
- The service load on the local or remote array is too heavy.
Procedure
- Check whether bit errors and packet loss occur on the local and remote replication link ports.
- Check whether the switch related to the replication link is normal.
- If packet loss, disorder, or bit errors occur on the switch, rectify the fault. If the alarm persists=> Step3.
- If the switch is normal=> Step3.
- Check whether the service load on the local and remote arrays is too heavy.
- If yes, contact technical support engineers for capacity expansion and service optimization.
- If no, collect related information and contact technical support engineers.
