Impact on the System

A consistency group is disconnected due to the link disconnection between two storage arrays. If the links are disconnected permanently, the consistency group must be deleted.

Possible Causes

  • Links are unstable.
  • The disk domain is faulty.
  • The primary LUN of the remote replication is faulty.
  • The secondary LUN of the remote replication is faulty.
  • The storage pool is full.

Procedure

  1. Check whether cables are working correctly.

    1. If yes=> Step2.
    2. If no, replace faulty optical fibers or network cables to ensure that all links work correctly. If the alarm persists=> Step2.

  2. Check whether alarms are generated for the storage pools that house the primary and secondary LUNs.

    1. If yes, perform the recommended actions for managing alarms. If the alarm persists=> Step3.
    2. If no=> Step3.

  3. Check whether alarms are generated on the primary and secondary LUNs and their disk domains.

    1. If yes, perform the recommended actions for managing alarms. If the alarm persists=> Step4.
    2. If no=> Step4.

  4. Collect all related information and contact technical support engineers.
