Impact on the System

The temperature of the board cannot be obtained. As a result, the fan module cannot automatically adjust the rotational speed according to the temperature of the board. The fan module thus keeps working at the full rotational speed with too much noise. The services, however, are not affected.

Possible Causes

The IIC bus was faulty.

Procedure

  1. Run the display temperature { all | slot slot-id } command to check whether a fault occurs on the temperature sensor due to the faulty IIC bus.

    (1) If the character string "Read Temperature Fail" is displayed in the query result, it indicates that the IIC bus is faulty. In this case, you need to replace the device.

    (2) If the character string "Read Temperature Fail" is not displayed in the query result, it indicates that the fault on the IIC bus is rectified. In this case, you need to go to Step 2.
