Description

IFPDT/1/CRCRATEEXCEED: OID [OID] The interface CRC error rate exceeded the trap threshold, which may affect forwarding. Handle it as soon as possible. (InterfaceIndex=[INTEGER], InterfaceName=[OCTET], CrcRate=[OCTET], TrapThreshold=[OCTET])

The rate of receiving CRC error packets equaled or exceeded 1000 packets per second.

Parameters

Name Meaning

OID

Indicates the alarm OID.

InterfaceIndex

Indicates the interface index.

InterfaceName

Indicates the interface name.

CrcRate

Indicates the current rate of receiving CRC error packets.

TrapThreshold

Indicates the alarm threshold for the rate of receiving CRC error packets.

Impact on the System

This interface discards some service data.

Possible Causes

After the stacking function was enabled on the switch, the rate of receiving CRC error packets by an interface equaled or exceeded 1000 packets per second. The possible causes include:

Cause 1:

The optical module was faulty.

Cause 2:

The optical fiber was faulty.

Procedure

  1. Replace the optical module and run the display interface command to check whether the number of CRC error packets received by the interface keeps increasing.
    1. If so, go to step 2.
    2. If not, no further action is required.
  2. Replace the optical fiber and run the display interface command to check whether the number of CRC error packets received by the interface keeps increasing.
    1. If so, go to step 3.
    2. If not, no further action is required.
  3. Collect alarm, log, and configuration information, and contact technical support personnel.
