Why Cannot the save Command Be Used to Save the Configuration File Before All the LPUs Run Normally?

The configuration information of the device is stored in the configuration file of the Flash memory or CF card. When the board works, it reads restored configuration information about the board in the configuration file, and stores current configuration information in the memory.

You can check configuration information in the configuration file through the display saved-configuration command, and check configuration information in the memory through the display current-configuration command.

After all the boards run normally in the system, the configuration information in the configuration file should be the same as that in the memory. If you add, modify, or remove configurations, the configuration information in the configuration file is different from that in the memory. In this case, you can run the save command to save the current configuration information in the memory to the configuration file.

If some LPUs do not run normally during the system startup, the configuration file is not completely restored in the memory. In this case, the incomplete information in the memory overrides the configuration file when you run the save command. This causes the loss of some configuration information.
