Hosts Cannot Receive Multicast Data

Hosts Cannot Receive Multicast Data

Fault Description

After Layer 3 multicast CAC is configured, hosts cannot receive multicast data.

Procedure

  • Run the display multicast limit global command to check whether the total number of multicast groups in the system reaches the global limit value.

If the global limit value is reached, increase the global limit value to allow users to join new groups. Then run the display pim routing-table command to check whether new Protocol Independent Multicast (PIM) routing entries have been generated.

  • Run the display multicast limit out-interface command to check whether the number of multicast groups on outbound interfaces reaches the limit values configured on the interfaces.

If the number of multicast groups on an interface reaches the configured limit, increase the limit value on this interface to allow users to join new groups. Then run the display pim routing-table command to check whether new PIM routing entries have been generated.
