MCAST/6/TTL_ONE
Message
MCAST/6/TTL_ONE: The TTL of the packet is one. (group ip=[STRING], source ip=[STRING], in-VlanID=[ULONG])
Parameters
Parameter Name | Parameter Meaning |
---|---|
group ip | Indicates the IPv4/IPv6 address of a multicast group. |
source ip | Indicates the IPv4/IPv6 address of a multicast source. |
in-VlanID | Indicates the inbound VLAN ID of a multicast data packet. |
Possible Causes
The TTL value of a multicast data packet is 1 and will not be forwarded to the next Layer 3 device
Procedure
- Determine whether the multicast data packet needs to be
forwarded to the next-hop Layer 3 switch based on the current multicast
service configuration.
- If yes, go to step 2.
- If no, this log message is informational only, and no action is required.
- Obtain packet header
information in incoming multicast packets on the inbound interface
of the multicast data flow, and check whether the TTL value in the
packet header is 1.
- If yes, go to step 3.
- If no, go to step 4.
- Run the state-refresh-ttl ttl-value (IPv4) command or state-refresh-ttl ttl-value (IPv6) command to set a new TTL value for multicast data packets. Request for the multicast data flow again and check whether multicast data packets can be forwarded normally. If not, go to step 4.
- Collect log information and configuration information, and then contact technical support personnel. You can collect diagnostic information using the display diagnostic-information command.
