How Does the Switch Process Received Flush Packets of Smart Link?

After receiving Flush packets of Smart Link, the switch checks the password in the Flush packets. If the control VLAN and password in the Flush packets are the same as those configured on the interface, the switch deletes MAC address entries. If the control VLAN and password in the Flush packets are different from those configured on the interface, the switch discards the Flush packets. Different versions delete MAC address entries differently:

  • V100R002 and V100R003: delete global MAC address entries.
  • V100R005, V100R006, V200R001, and V200R002: delete only MAC address entries on the interface with the smart-link flush receive command configured.
  • V200R003 and later versions: delete only MAC address entries on the interface where the smart-link flush receive command is configured and the control VLAN specified in the command is the same as the control VLAN in the Flush packets.
